Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center

MBI is a Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) partner organization. As a DOE Bioenergy Research Center, the GLBRC is positioned to make key discoveries and major advances that will lead to breakthrough technologies for eventual large-scale conversion of biomass into fuels.

The GLBRC's primary focus is basic and fundamental scientific research; however the GLBRC is also committed to fostering the development and eventual commercialization of GLBRC discoveries and technologies.

As a partner organization, MBI brings a commercial perspective to inform research and develop de-risking roadmaps to accelerate the pace, and improve the ratio, at which GLBRC-developed technologies and fundamental discoveries are licensed for industrial biofuel production.
